Osmosis Treatment

Most boat and yacht owners are used to having their hulls cleaned annually for contamination, however they realize that the glossy gel coat must be painted sooner or later when the osmosis process begins. Osmosis is a purely chemical process of hydrolysis of water saturation of materials in a fiberglass laminate resulting in a range of hygroscopic products. The most obvious sign of the onset of osmosis is the appearance of peeling gel coat bubbles or flakes on the outer surface of the vessel.
